Instagram Graph API Integration
Connect your Instagram professional account to publish Reels and carousels. You sign in on Instagram itself; Hookvera never sees your password.
You'll be taken to instagram.com to sign in and approve access, then brought back here. Requires a Business or Creator account.
- In the Meta App Dashboard, open your app → Instagram → API setup with Instagram login, and copy the Instagram app ID and Instagram app secret.
- Under Business login settings → OAuth redirect URIs, add
https://YOUR-DOMAIN/api/instagram/callback. - Add
INSTAGRAM_APP_ID,INSTAGRAM_APP_SECRETandPUBLIC_BASE_URL=https://YOUR-DOMAINto the server's.env, then restart.
How connecting Instagram works 1-minute read
Before you start
You need an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator). Instagram only lets apps publish to professional accounts. Switching is free and takes a minute:
Instagram app → your profile → ☰ menu → Settings and privacy → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account
Connect in 3 steps
- Click “Connect Instagram”. You'll be taken to instagram.com.
- Sign in to the account you want to post to and approve access. If you're already signed in to a different account there, switch accounts first.
- You're brought back here and the card shows your @username. Done. The connection renews itself, so you don't need to do this again.
What Hookvera can and can't do
- See your username and profile picture
- Publish the Reels and carousels you choose to publish
- Check how many posts you have left today
- See your Instagram password (you sign in on Instagram itself)
- Read your messages or comments
- Post anything without you clicking Publish
Something went wrong?
- “Instagram access wasn't granted.”
- The approval screen was cancelled. Click Connect Instagram again and choose Allow.
- “This Instagram sign-in link has expired.”
- Connect links last 10 minutes. Start again from the Connect Instagram button.
- Instagram says the account isn't eligible, or asks you to switch account type
- Your account is personal. Switch it to Business or Creator (see Before you start), then connect again.
- Instagram says the app isn't available
- Your account can't be connected yet. Please contact the Hookvera team so we can enable it.
- The wrong account got connected
- Click Disconnect, sign out of instagram.com in this browser (or switch accounts there), then connect again.
- Publishing stopped working
- Instagram allows 100 posts through apps per 24 hours; check your quota here. If the card asks you to reconnect, your connection expired: just connect again.
To remove Hookvera's access completely, click Disconnect here, then in Instagram go to Settings and privacy → Website permissions → Apps and websites and remove Hookvera.
Facebook Page Integration
Connect a Facebook Page to publish Reels and multi-photo posts to it, on their own or together with Instagram. You sign in on Facebook itself; Hookvera never sees your password.
You'll be taken to facebook.com to sign in and choose the Pages Hookvera may post to, then brought back here.
- In the Meta App Dashboard, open your app → App settings → Basic, and copy the App ID and App secret (not the Instagram app ID).
- Add the Facebook Login product, and under Settings → Valid OAuth Redirect URIs add
https://YOUR-DOMAIN/api/facebook/callback. - Request the
pages_show_list,pages_read_engagementandpages_manage_postspermissions. - Add
FACEBOOK_APP_ID,FACEBOOK_APP_SECRETandPUBLIC_BASE_URL=https://YOUR-DOMAINto the server's.env, then restart.
